Jenny Sais Pas is a Leeds-based academic and live art performer. Her research centres around strategies of resistance in neo-burlesque performance and confessional feminist live art.
She is interested in the ways in which these performance mediums can work to defy the sexual objectification of the female body and break down heteronormative narratives around female sexual pleasure.
Her performance work often uses cabaret imagery to tackle difficult topics in a subversive yet playful way, exploring experiences of mental illness, gendered violence and vulnerability.
Jenny is currently working independently on a postgraduate research project into agency and vulnerability in neo-burlesque.
She has worked with companies and organisations such as; Leeds Beckett University, Open Source Arts, F*ckclub, The Red Room, AGE of THE, and The University of Leeds.
